I'm kind off curious, any projects we should know about for this week/month?

its far surpassed it imo...and for a long while too
in terms of presentation, layout, formatting, and general ease of use
yesh, teh original wiki sometimes has more content
but generally this extra content is extra advice//findings/speculations/opinions/etc
and i find not terribly necessary for most ppl to read
i use it more like an encylopedia
and i can find and read things much faster/easier on official wiki
and being able to interact wit devs is always a plus

However you use an information site for it's information, not for the presentation. And while it's true official wiki has better presentation, the information that is essential to the game (and thus what you would consider necessary for most people to read) is presented in a very decent way with some extras in the unofficial, such as Quick skills references, instead of putting it all on the original page; result being it's more begginer friendly.
The extra information and tips on how to beat this or that is always a plus, while the talk pages have valuable information. I almsot never see this in the official one.
So imo unofficial is still better, despite the drama and the abandon. I only enter official to read Developer's updates and when someone links to it.

Yeah, I suffered major lag the last two days, but today seems to be clear of it

Agreed. I hate the original wiki, the official is by far much better. Especially in what I need to find with the wiki, which almost always deals with lore.
The Official Wiki>the Original Wiki in format, info, and just plain everything.
Glad GW2 has an official wiki from the get-go, although I don't like the "how to's" of the wikis, the fast access to info is always good.

I disagree. Original Wiki is still better. The ONLY thing the official wiki did better was getting GW:EN info up when it first came up.
But, whatever, apples to oranges, everybody has preferances.

I think the main advantage of the official wiki is the link to the ingame 'Help' function (F10). Even though personally I've never used it..

It's a good thing I caught this thread or I probably wouldn't have gotten the wiki update for my personal wiki. Thank you for the info.

When hundreds of people hit the wiki all at the same time, sending multiple thousands of requests per second to our servers, it does tend to slow down a bit. The wiki was back up when I posted yesterday.

Note that this security problem has to do with Wiki account information, not GW account. If you don't have an account on Wiki, which you wouldn't if you are just visiting, you have no worries.
